Okay, so I changed to this blog bc the University's was a little confusing to me!
My name is Katie Avina, and I am excited about starting grad school! I went to the U for my undergrad so it feels good to be back on campus!
I am a mother of two boys, Emilio who is 3 years old and Enrique who is 8 months but tries to act like he is older! I have an amazing husband who is also studying at the U getting his masters in Special Education.
I work at a charter school, Academia Cesar Chavez, which is located on the East Side of St. Paul. I have been there for 5 years. I am the Prevention Specialist; I work with students on attendance and social skills and discipline. I love working with the kids, my favorite age group though are middle school, but I currently work with K - 6th grade (so my 5th and 6th graders are close to that middle school madness!).
